What Is 35% Food Grade Hydrogen Peroxide?

35% Food Grade Hydrogen Peroxide is a high-purity, concentrated hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) solution intended for professional, industrial, and controlled dilution applications. “Food grade” refers to a purity standard and documentation expectations commonly required in processing, sanitation, and compliance-driven environments. Because 35% is highly concentrated, it should be handled with care and used only by individuals familiar with safe storage and dilution practices.

Available Sizes and Packaging Options

This product is available in multiple container sizes to support everything from small-batch use to bulk operations. Select the size that best fits your workflow, handling preferences, and storage capacity:

  • 16 oz – Ideal for testing, small-batch dilution, or limited-use applications.
  • 32 oz – A practical mid-size option for recurring use and moderate-volume needs.
  • 4 × 32 oz Bottles – Gallon-equivalent volume split into smaller bottles for easier handling and storage.
  • 1 Gallon – Designed for regular use and higher-volume dilution needs.
  • 4 Gallon – Best suited for commercial and bulk applications where larger quantities are required.

Certificates of Analysis (COA) and Safety Data Sheets (SDS)

Documentation is available to support quality assurance and compliance needs. Certificates of Analysis (COA) and Safety Data Sheets (SDS) may be provided for reference and recordkeeping.

Tip: Replace the links above with your SDS and COA URLs. If you maintain multiple COAs, consider linking to a dedicated “Quality & Documentation” page rather than listing dozens of PDFs directly here.

Common Applications and Use Cases

35% hydrogen peroxide is commonly used in professional environments where controlled concentration, predictable performance, and documentation are important. Typical use cases include:

  • Sanitation and cleaning in industrial and processing environments (when properly diluted)
  • Laboratory and research settings
  • Commercial operations requiring oxidation or cleaning chemistry
  • Water-related applications in professional contexts (process-dependent)

Always confirm suitability for your specific application and follow any relevant standards, procedures, and safety requirements.

Dilution and Handling Guidelines

This is a concentrated solution and is typically used only after controlled dilution for many applications. Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), avoid contact with skin and eyes, and work in a well-ventilated area. Store containers upright, tightly closed, and away from heat and direct sunlight.

Important: Always follow the SDS and your internal safety procedures. If you need application-specific dilution guidance, consult a qualified professional or your facility’s safety/compliance team.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does "food grade" hydrogen peroxide mean?

Food grade hydrogen peroxide refers to a purity standard commonly required in regulated processing, sanitation, and industrial environments. It indicates that the product is produced and handled to meet documentation and quality expectations beyond those of household-grade peroxide.

Is 35% hydrogen peroxide the same as store-bought peroxide?

No. Store-bought hydrogen peroxide is typically a much lower concentration. 35% hydrogen peroxide is a highly concentrated solution intended for controlled handling and dilution in professional or industrial applications.

Do you provide a Safety Data Sheet (SDS) and Certificate of Analysis (COA)?

Yes. Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and Certificates of Analysis (COA) are available to support documentation and compliance needs. A representative COA and the current SDS are provided on this page, and additional documentation can be requested if needed.

How should 35% hydrogen peroxide be stored?

Store 35% hydrogen peroxide in its original container, upright, tightly sealed, and in a cool, dry location away from heat, direct sunlight, and incompatible materials. Always follow the guidance outlined in the SDS.

Which container size should I choose?

Smaller sizes are typically chosen for testing or limited use, while larger containers are better suited for recurring or higher-volume operations. The 4 × 32 oz option provides gallon-equivalent volume in smaller bottles for easier handling and storage.

Are there shipping restrictions for 35% hydrogen peroxide?

Due to the concentrated nature of this product, shipping methods and destinations may be restricted. Packaging and labeling are handled in accordance with applicable requirements, and availability is shown on the product page.

What is the shelf life of 35% food grade hydrogen peroxide?

When stored properly in its original container and under recommended conditions, 35% food grade hydrogen peroxide has a typical shelf life of approximately one year from the date of manufacture. Exposure to heat, light, or contamination can reduce shelf stability, so proper storage is important. After 1 year it will likely be 0.5 to 1% less and can safely be used at those lower levels. The peroxide does not go "bad" it just loses potency over time.

35% hydrogen peroxide

I used this product to clear algae from the floor and walls of a greenhouse. It breaks down into water & oxygen that unless directly sprayed on plants does not harm them. Bleach will similarly clear algae but the resultant fumes, in a greenhouse whose windows would be closed in winter, can harm plants. 35% hydrogen peroxide is about 10X more expensive than bleach but for some situations it is the better product. Hydrogen peroxide leaves no residue since oxygen is a gas and water evaporates.
